Arrive in Punta Arenas, Chile before 2 PM. Transfer to your hotel and attend a mandatory briefing on your voyage and essential guidelines for Antarctic visitors. Enjoy local cuisine and get to know your fellow adventurers during your welcome dinner.
Take your smooth, two-hour flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands. Step off the plane and breathe in clear, Antarctic air. Explore the area surrounding Chile’s Frei Station and Russia’s Bellingshausen station. Then, board a Zodiac to embark your expedition vessel.
Sail southbound along ice-filled fjords and spectacular icebergs, with a goal of reaching the Polar Circle. Keep an eye out for sightings of sea birds, penguins, seals and whales. Disembark by Zodiac each day. Visit the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula. In small groups, hike to extraordinary sites and enjoy exploratory Zodiac excursions to otherwise inaccessible areas. Expert polar guides share their passion for Antarctica through engaging presentations before leading you ashore to interpret the wildlife, history and environment. After a day of adventure, enjoy spectacular views and share stories with fellow guests from the glass-enclosed lounge. Specific voyage route is based on local conditions and takes advantage of ever-changing opportunities provided by nature. Flexibility and adopting the spirit of adventure will be key to a successful voyage. Possible site visits may include Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, the Lemaire Channel, Prospect Point and other magnificent places.
Back at King George Island, bid farewell to Antarctica as your board your scheduled flight to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for the night.
