REBREATHER DIVING: MIXED GAS COURSE

OVERVIEW
This course will train the divers to use normoxic trimix (16% and higher) in diluents and bailouts to a maximum depth of 200ft/60m. The Mixed Gas CCR Diver course is a mainly practical skills based course building on the knowledge developed during the basic course. The aim of the course is develop the skills required to use the Evolution/ Inspiration CCR at depths beyond the normal recreational limits utilizing diluents other than air. Learn the advanced requirements of closed circuit dive planning including bailout options and correct diluent selection.

Course Prerequisites
Have completed a basic CCR course on the Evolution/Inspiration from a recognized agency. Must have a minimum of 100 logged dives. Minimum of 50 hrs on rebreather distributed over a minimum of 50 dives with 60% of the dives deeper then 66ft/20m.

Course Structure:
A total of 500mins of underwater time will be required to complete this course.

Day 1 - Classroom session to review basic CCR theory and cover the theory specific to CCR diving using Helium based diluents.1 dive 33ft/10m - 66ft/20m. Equipment configuration drills. Review of basic CCR skills. Correct mounting of stage cylinders, practice of removal and replacement of stages. CC-OC-CC practice drills. OC Bailout drills.

Day 2 - 2 Dives 100ft/30m - 132ft/40m lasting around 60 minutes. Practice of CCR open water skills including practice of full OC bailout from a depth of 100ft/30m-115ft/35m. Closed Circuit dive planning exercise with OC bailout plan.

Day 3 - 2 Dives 100ft/30m - 132ft/40m lasting around 60 minutes. Practice of CCR open water skills including removal and replacement of side mounted bailout bottles. Closed Circuit dive planning exercise with OC bailout plan.

Day 4 - 2 Dives 132ft/40m - 165ft/50m lasting around 60 minutes. Practice of CCR open water skills including practice of full OC team bailout from a depth of 132ft/40m-150ft/45m. Closed Circuit dive planning exercise with OC bailout plan.

Day 5 - 2 Dives 165ft/50m - 200ft/60m lasting around 60 minutes. Practice of CCR open water skills including manually operate the CCR with off board gasses. Closed Circuit dive planning exercise with OC bailout plan.

ICE DIVING EXPERTS
Drawing upon decades of experience on and beneath the Arctic ice, Arctic Kingdom is able to provide training that replicates the Arctic diving experience in a region much closer to home. The Arctic is home to a variety of conditions, from drifting pack ice to massive icebergs and huge pressure cracks. In Ontario's 1000 Islands, we have chosen a location with ice conditions similar to the Arctic, offering a wide range of training scenarios. Using our state-of-the-art airboat, you will be able to experience ice that has never been accessed before, safely and reliably.
