IS THIS TRIP FOR YOU?
This trip is tailor made for the discerning explorer who specifies and requires the highest quality. Designed to remove the risks of wildlife viewing in the arctic, to address that not everyone has weeks and months or even years to see all the arctic has to offer, this expedition has taken everyones dream way of seeing the arctic and made it a reality. Where timing is of the essence and a requirement to ensure that all transportation and logistical means necessary are used to ensure a high likelihood of an animal encounter and minimize risk then this trip is perfect for anyone looking for a real adventure. The planes will be landing on ice runways, the helicopters landing seemingly in the middle of now where with only pancakes of ice for miles around. Ultimate Arctic Wildlife Adventure has been put together for adventurers serious about seeing the arctic, serious about photography and getting the shots theyneed, and seeing the arctic from a viewpoint and method that only a privileged few have seen before. You do not have to have previous Arctic experience, but you do need to have an adventurous spirit. Relatively speaking, very few people have been through to the high Arctic — you can become among the first to explore this amazing region. An expedition is typically represented by an international range of participants. Having a laid back, open-minded and patient demeanor is important.
What Level of Difficulty
Arctic Kingdom’s expeditions are not overly active, but there can be long days of travel via snowmobile or on a motorized boat.
What to Expect
Despite this being an arctic wildlife viewing trip where you will see some stunning scenery and rarely seen animals in their natural environment, we would like all our expedition participants to understand and be sensitive to the cultural and historical ways of the Inuit people and their subsistence hunting lifestyle. Our expeditions position ourselves in areas with large concentrations of animals. We use the most experienced hunters as guides and occasionally find ourselves in the same areas as local hunting parties. We support the aboriginal native right to hunt as part of a lifestyle that has supported the Inuit people over thousands of years in one of the harshest climates on earth. We enjoy the hospitality of the people of the North and have established valuable relationships of trust and mutual respect. Our expeditions may have the opportunity, either by chance or choice, to observe hunting activities. Such images may be graphic and if improperly used could cause substantial harm to the Inuit people and their traditional way of life. It is possible that you will see evidence of hunting and dead animals as you wander through the gateway communities. Examples include the stretching of seal skin boots or gloves, Inuit husky dog teams being fed Arctic Char or seal meat. If you are open to experiencing a new culture, their hunting lifestyle and learning about their way of life, then this trip is for you.
