Safari Camps, Lodges & Cabins
Safaris with Arctic Kingdom come in 3 accommodation styles – Safari Camps (Premium and Tented), Lodges and Cabins.
Arctic Kingdom is the pioneer of the Arctic Safari Camp.
Inspiration for our camps comes from the traditional camps of the Inuit, polar expeditions, and African mobile tented safaris. Weaving together traditional and modern technology, we have pioneered the concept of the Arctic Safari.
We have developed two styles of Safari Camps:
- Premium Safari Camp – A modern Arctic yurt-style inspired camp with structures that have windows and doors, heaters, and fully functioning shared washrooms with hot showers.
- Tented Safari Camp - The sleep tents are large and spacious at almost 7' feet tall, with 140 sq feet of living space. They have large doorways that you can walk into with ample standing room and space for all your cameras and luggage. All sleep tents contain two beds and full size pillows.
Set up on land
or directly on the sea ice
, the Premium Safari Camp and Tented Safari Camp are set up seasonally, from 1 to 4 weeks, in order to time a specific wildlife encounter. They are set up prior to your arrival and at the end of the short season, they are dismantled by Arctic Kingdom and sent back to our local community storage facility, leaving only footprints behind.
Gourmet meals in breathtaking places
Be it at a safari camp, cabin, or a lodge, Arctic Kingdom loves food and we take it very seriously. After a day out on the land watching polar bears, come back to your safari camp or lodge for some serious appetizers to be followed by a gourmet meal.
Our Executive Chef Matt Binkley along with his hand-picked team of chefs, has prepared menus to showcase the best the Arctic has to offer. Combining a mix of locally sourced food, which ranges from Arctic char, turbot, caribou or musk-ox, and specialty foods we source ‘down south’, meals are comfort food gourmet with a dash of panache.
