New Adventures with Arctic Kingdom Expeditions now Online!

The trips section of our website has been updated with new land-based arctic animal adventures for 2010. From dog sledding along traditional hunting routes with your own Inuit guide to setting up base camp within metres of a narwhal pod, our land-based expeditions offer the ultimate in arctic wildlife viewing. Built on our extensive experience developing expeditions for professional photographers, film makers and serious naturalists, these new trips are tailored for the Arctic enthusiast who is looking for that real, up close arctic experience of animals, stunning scenery and Inuit culture in a relaxed, fun, and adventurous atmosphere.

Narwhal and Polar Bear Floe Edge Adventure
New for 2010! - May 1 through June 15 departure dates

Nestled between the majestic mountains of north Baffin Island and Bylot Island, Sirmilik National Park is home to an abundant wilderness that few have seen. The spring floe edge is a fascinating eco-system, where polar animals gather and pods of narwhal rest only metres from the edge, their misty breath sparkling in the 24-hour sun. From our floe edge base camp, you'll also have a good chance of seeing polar bears, multiple species of seal, and an incredible range of sea birds including thick billed Murre, Kittiwake, Guillemot, Ivory Gull, and many others. Bowhead and Beluga also frequent this area. See Details

Dog Sledding North Baffin Island Adventure
New for 2010!

Step back in time along Baffin Island's traditional Inuit hunting routes.

Experience the romance of a by-gone arctic -- an Inuit hunter, his dog team, and the wide expanse of the tundra, sea and ice -- alongside the ultimate in modern safety and comfort. As much as the snowmobile, or 'iron dog,' has replaced the dog team as the primary workhorse of the Arctic, traditional dog teams still play an important part in Inuit life and culture. Live the tradition for five days under the mentorship of your Inuit guide, with the option to customize your trip to meet your specific interests. See Details

Calling all Explorers for September!

Join us this September as we scout locations for our next polar bear expedition!
Polar Bears Return to the Sea

We are always in search of new perspectives -- the seasons or locations that will provide a heretofore unseen look at an animal’s life cycle in the arctic. In that spirit of discovery and exploration, we're leading a small expedition to north Baffin Island and up Navy Board Inlet in mid-September in search of polar bears as they return to the sea after a summer spent on the land. We are offering to share this small, zodiac-based scouting/exploration trip with a few intrepid explorers. Our land and underwater photographers will be scouting for footage of polar bears swimming in the open water and along the rugged shorelines. There is also a good possibility of seeing pods of narwhal and bowhead whales.

New Polar Outfitting Catalogue available for download

Need a Canada Goose Expedition Parka? A Scott Polar Pyramid tent? How about an 8m Inflatable Zodiac, or a Portable Decompression Chamber? After almost 6 months in the works, we are pleased to announce that our new Polar Outfitting Catalogue is now available for download on our website.

The new Polar Outfitting Catalog is brimming with every imaginable piece of equipment – clothing, tents, vehicles, technology and dive gear – everything that could be used to outfit a polar project or expedition. Not just a catalog, this is a work of art (at least we think so – so please forgive us!), with all images in the catalogue taken on previous Arctic Kingdom Expeditions or custom film projects where this equipment is used – from Alaska to Svalbard.
