Once flight tickets are issued, they are non-refundable. Date changes that fall within the travel restrictions of the fare are allowed, however a $100 administrative fee is applicable. Cancellations are subject to a a $100 administrative fee in addition to the non-refundable flights if applicable First Air standard baggage rules apply. Please see First Air Website for details.
What should I expect for weather?
The average temperature in April in Iqaluit is -15 C and in Kimmirut -14 C. The sun reflecting off the ice and snow can cause severe sunburn in April. Be sure to apply sunscreen regularly.
What should I wear?
If you are already an avid snowmobiler – we recommend bringing the same gear you use including your own helmet. We can provide helmets for $10/day but if you prefer your own, then by all means bring it!
Dress in warm layers (base layer, mid layer, fleece, parka, long underwear):
- Toque, balaclava, neck gaiter
- Goggles (bright and low light options preferred)
- Inner gloves
- Alti mitts or similar
- Snow pants
- Warm mid layer pants
- Extreme cold rated boots
- Lip balm
- Indoor shoes (hotel in Kimmirut)
- Camera with extra batteries and hand-warmers to keep the batteries warm
- Small overnight bag for qamutiq (space and weight is limited)

Arctic Kingdom has almost 20 years of experience operating trips to the Canadian High Arctic. The snowmobiles you ride are suitable for the variety of conditions to be expected - from extremely cold weather, ice and snowless tracts. Our fleet consists primarily of Ski-doo Expedition 600 ACE four stroke machines. We reserve the right to substitute machines, if necessary.
