Shannon Guihan

NATURE GUIDE

Shannon has been an adventure travel guide in the world’s far reaches for more than a decade. From her roots as a sea kayak guide in Newfoundland, Shannon quickly developed the expertise, skills and desire to explore the world as a top-level adventure guide. Shannon has researched and guided trips all over the world, and specializes in Arctic Canada, Greenland and Iceland. Her guiding and instructing experience ranges from cross-country skiing, kayaking, hiking, flatwater canoeing and most things in between.

Shannon’s polar experience is extensive. She spent four years as a hiking guide in Iceland, and for two years she led hiking-based trips in Greenland, focused in Ilulissat, Nuuk, Narsarsuaq, Kangerlusuaq, Sisimiut and Narsaq. She has made excellent contacts in each community, and sourced the best ascents for all hiking levels.

Shannon is passionate about sustainable tourism development, and has consulted for various adventure and luxury travel companies to develop tourism impact studies, community-based tourism development strategies and travel sales and marketing.
